Stratis Art Exhibition at Mystic Coffee Roaster

Opening Sunday, Jan. 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.!

Everett native and resident, Evmorphia Stratis, who has painted, exhibited and taught painting in California, Greece and Boston, is currently showing works at the Mystic Coffee Roaster Café in Medford.

On display are large oil paintings from her tree series, small mixed medium ‘vibrant’ still life and two figurative pieces, ’Dance’ and ‘Journey’ from Greece. “It always gives me great pleasure to exhibit my work in a local café where I can meet friends, have great espresso and conversation.”

Evmorphia currently teaches at the Devotion and Pierce Schools in Brookline. “ The arts are so important for children and I love teaching in the after school programs where students have more time to express themselves in an elected class setting.” Stratis ran Evmorphia’s Studio in Brookline for 10 years. She taught classes from toddlers to adults, participated in Brookline Artists Open Studios and was actively involved with the community.

Stratis is presently working out of her home in Everett.

She is exploring and working in encaustics, an ancient technique of blending pigments into beeswax.

“The creative process is fickle- sometimes forceful, outpouring and unstoppable, other times stagnant and buried. But that little voice is always there nagging…paint, create, express!” Evmorphia looks forward to sharing new works with her next exhibit.

So visit the fabulous independent roastery and café

Mystic Coffee Roaster (small independent coffee roaster cafe located in the city of Medford, MA, a suburb just north of Boston.) and see some of Evmorphia’s paintings while having a fine cup of coffee.
