Medford Cub Scout Pack 416 Expanding

Medford Cub Scout Pack 416 is pleased to announce that it is expanding. Pack 416 has recently welcomed approximately 30 transfer scouts from Pack 421 and over 20 boys new to scouting this year. Parents, leaders and scouts have come together to form a vibrant and active community group.

Pack 416 is a part of the Boston Minuteman Council and is committed to opening its doors to all members of the Medford Community. As stated in the Minuteman Council’s Non-Discrimination policy, “The Boston Minuteman Council serves over 18,000 youth through 3,300 volunteers in over 330 Packs, Troops and other units without regard to color, race, religion, ethnic background, sexual orientation, or economic status.”  This policy was adopted by the Council in 2001 and can be read in its entirety here: http://soar2012.org/_media/BMC_Policy_of_Nondiscrimination.pdf

Cub Scout Pack 416 is a locally run organization comprised of Medford youth and families. Pack 416 supports the Scouting ideals of character development, citizenship training, growth in physical and mental fitness, and leadership opportunities. Our leaders and our scouts go through extensive Youth Protection Training and all leaders have completed Massachusetts CORI background reports.

In November the Pack presented the boys with a number of achievement awards. The new scouts, from Tigers to Webelos, earned their first rank of Bobcat. The Tigers, Wolves and Bears earned their first beads of the year. Our Webelos I den earned their Fitness and Athlete Activity Pins, while the Webelos II earned Artist and Engineer pins.
