An MBTA bus driver who spotted a 2-year-old wandering the streets along and notified police received a key to the city of Medford and a commendation from its Police Chief. Donna D’Amelio spotted the child near Light Guard Drive as she was driving the 134 route on Riverside Avenue about 6 a.m. on Aug. 5. She stopped the bus, called police and waited with the child until they arrived. D'Amelio was recognized by city and MBTA officials in a ceremony at MBTA Police Headquarters. In attendance were Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn and Police Chief Leo Sacco.
