It's the first time since 1997.

The Chiefs once again rule the Intercity League.

For the first time since 1997 the Andre Chiefs are the kings of the ICL.
The Chiefs rode the pitching of ace Jared Freni, who pitched his second shutout of the series, allowing just six hits and striking out five, to knock off the five time defending champion Lexington Blue Sox 3-0 in Lexington on Sunday afternoon.
Juan Portes & Mike Baillargeon led the offense.

It was the eighteenth championship for the franchise and the fifth since they became the Andre Chiefs. The legendary Hosmer Chiefs won thirteen titles in both the Suburban Twi-League and the ICL dating back to 1960.
