Allergan, an international health care company with a location at 200 Boston Ave. in Medford, is slated to expand its local operations with an addition of 10,000 square feet, according to a report in the Boston Business Journal.

According to their website, Allergan is "multi-specialty health care company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing innovative pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices and over-the-counter consumer products that enable people to live life to its greatest potential."

Boston Business Journal reported Allergan purchased Serica Technology in 2010 for $63.7 million and kept their Medford location. Currently, the Medford facility is used for producing the silk surgical mesh SeriScaffold, according to Boston Business Journal.
