Carroll's Puts Up New Signs, Eyes Spring Opening

The restaurant aims open by late March or early April.

For the first time in 26 years, a sign for Carroll's restaurant dons a Medford storefront.

Crews hung brown awnings Wednesday that read "Carroll's" and signs with gold lettering advertising oysters, ales and a bar and grill at the under-construction new restaurant at 21 Main St.

Work is coming along inside, too, co-owner Tom Carroll said Wednesday. Windows have been cut over-looking the Mystic River and remodeling inside is nearly ready for carpets and adornments, he said.

The restaurant aims open by late March or early April, Carroll said.

Hi,

I worked at Carroll's years ago while in college. I was excited to hear that the restaurant will be opening soon in Medford. I'd love to work there again...nice family and great menu. I hope they offer their house dressing--it was delicious!! Leslie

Stupid people start stupid rumors:
Hello Friends,
There have been circulating rumors going around the Medford and Malden area that Salvatore's Restaurant in Medford is closing. This could not be further from the truth. In fact, Salvatore's all over New England and the US are growing at an amazing pace and they are doing great wherever they open the doors. They just bought the Hampton Beach Casino, so if that is an indicator of the Salvatore's success story I don't know what is!
Folks these are just nasty rumors and there is no truth to them. These mostly come from competing restaurants in the area and it is silly for them to spread rumors as there is plenty of business for everybody to go around. We all love and have our favorites in the area and competition between the restaurants is silly as they all have something special that they do.
Salvatore's In Medford is doing just fine and is NOT closing!!
Warmest Regards!

To Joe V.
I hope you are not speaking for Salvatore's in a professional manner because starting a comment - Stupid people start stupid rumors: reflects poorly on you and Salvatore's if you are speaking on their behalf. I would recommend using different wording to get your point across. It comes across condescending and crude.

I was a dishwasher at Carroll's Diner. This was in the early 70's. Carroll's food was always good, I never heard any complaints against them, I hope it remains the same. GOOD LUCK CARROLL"S.
