Hearing Scheduled in 'Magic Factory' Fraud Case
Harry Levy is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court to enter a plea later in April.
A Medford magic store owner is expected to appear in court later this month to plead guilty to charges of credit card fraud and making false statements to investigators, according to a court docket.
Harry Levy, 61, of Lexington is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Boston for a hearing on April 18. Levy, the owner of Hank Lee's Magic Factory, signed an agreement last week to plead guilty to the two charges, which stem from , according to court documents. Levy then mislead investigators as they looked into the charges, court filings said.
In exchange for the guilty pleadings, prosecutors won't persue charges of wire fraud or aggravated identity theft, according to the plea agreement.

Levy's plea agreement, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston Friday, calls for a freeze on his assets. The credit card charge carries up to a 15 year sentence and the false statements charge 5 years, but the plea agreement said prosecutors will be seeking the "low end" of sentencing guidelines. The agreement also calls for Levy to pay restitution to the victim.

The hearing on April 18 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. before Judge Nathaniel Gorton, according to a court docket.
