Medford's state legislators and chamber of commerce will hold a forum this week on the state's transportation system and future.
State Sen. Patricia Jehlen, the city's House delegation and the Medford Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the forum Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Century Bank on 400 Mystic Ave. in Medford.
Massachusetts Transportation Secretary Richard Davey will be presenting "The Way Forward: A 21st Century Transportation Plan" and that will be followed by a panel discussion.
The forum "aims to inform the community of current proposals for how to bring Massachusetts’ transportation system into a state of good repair. It will focus on the importance of transportation to residents and businesses alike, as a part of the statewide conversation," according to a statement from Jehlen's office.
In a recent letter, Jehlen said the state's transportation funding "is at a crisis point."
