Medford Man Charged After Allegedly Fondling MBTA Worker

Michael Hutt faces an indecent assault charge after an incident with a CSA at Wellington Station, T officials said.

A Medford man faces an indecent assault and battery charge after allegedly grabbing a female customer service agent at Wellington Station.

Michael Hutt, 58, of 11A Pearl Street allegedly coaxed the 52-year-old agent from her customer service booth by asking for help putting money on his Charlie Card. He then stroked her back and, after being asking not to touch her, grabbed one of her breasts, according to an MBTA police report written by Officer Daniel Cardarelli.

About 7 p.m., Hutt asked the agent for help putting $2 on his Charlie Card. As they walked to one of the Charlie machines he stroked her back and the agent pulled away and told him not to touch her, the report said.

After putting money on the card, they went to the gate. Hutt passed through, then turned, reached over the barrier and grabbed the victim's right breast, the report said.

He tried to leave down an escalator leading to the rail platform. But an MBTA Inspector stopped Hutt and accompanied him until Cardarelli, the responding officer, arrived, the report said. Hutt denied being involved in the incident, but the customer service agent and another witness both identified him as the perpetrator.
