it is so sad another kid from a good family caught up in drugs come on medford open your eyes we have a epidemic going on i actually heard a medford policr officer say to another officer about a young girl in the store "she is another junkie I wanted to scream why dont you help " makes me sick! and yes people it does happen to good families and good parents, never say never. sad

You're right that it's sad Susan, but he isn't a kid he's 28. We need to starting treating our young adults like young adults instead of teens. We need to work on drug prevention but not coddle and let our children become functioning adults!

you can not become a functioning adult unless you are given a chance, my daughter has been clean for two years, and it was a living hell unless anyone knows what it is like do not pass judgement on anyone or person i am aRN and my husband is teacher and i have two sons in college, we are a good family and it bothers me to read dont coddle them, if my daughter did not have the love and support from us she could be dead, and susan that very easily could have been my daughter the police were talking about, maybe if they reached out to these young adults and went after drug dealers we may not have such a bad problem and daniielle it does not matter if you are 15 0r 28 addiction is addiction. Susan, if you've ever tried to help substance abusers you can see what a huge mess it is. Only professionals can give them the tough love or the riot act they need read. Unfortunately, outside of prayer, the rest of us need to distance ourselves from their insanity. This particular Sovereign bank has the fewest cameras of any bank around I'm told, which is probably why it was targeted. Notice "because the quality of the surveillance video was so poor, they sent it to the Secret Service in order to enhance the footage" - I told the bank manager at that branch that they need to have a video camera at the front door pointing up from the floor to get faces of anyone wearing a hood. I know the teller and there were not adequate cameras in the place at the time this happened. Also, the Winchester Police station is only about 2-3 blocks away so that individual that robbed the bank was pretty brazen...and stupid.

How about a little compassion for the addict and their loved ones? It is pure hell for the person and their families dealing with addiction. I do not think when he was a child he said to himself "when I grow up I want to be an addict". I would not wish that on my worst enemy...god bless Michael and family.

Hello Jane and Angie, I respectfully disagree with both of you. I've had to deal with friends who got caught up in drugs, alcohol or both. You haven't read my book "Drugs ruined me...and I never took any"...because I haven't published it yet. I have tried everything with these people - compassion, understanding, tough love...respectfully I tell you some of these addicts are actually happy in their misery. They embrace their irresponsibility and become a burden to the rest of society. I stand by my comment - the bank needs better surveillance. How can a bank in 2012 be so lacking in high tech equipment, relatively inexpensive in this day and age. The bank manager told me "not to worry" that my money is safe and insured; We know that. What will angie and jane doe say if I'm gunned down while making a deposit? Let me reiterate -I tried my best to help some of these individuals...they repeatedly call to get back into my life. No thanks. My days of being the water boy are over. Compassion, yes. Are they in my prayers, yes. Do I want to be around them? An emphatic NO. Leave it to the professionals. Clint Eastwood said "Mercy, I'm fresh out." That's not me. I have the compassion...just don't want them in my space.
