An 86-year-old Medford man has been identified as the victim in a fatal car accident in Hyannis over the weekend, the Cape Cod Times Reports.

Eugene O'Leary was the passenger in a Mercury Milan that collided with a Ford F-150 near an intersection on Route 132 about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. O'Leary and the vehicle's driver both had to be extricated from the car, according to the report. O'Leary was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Mercury, Mary O'Leary, remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to the Times.
