New Medford Stop & Shop to Open Friday

Boston.com reported the news Monday.

Boston.com is reporting the new Stop & Shop location on Salem Street in Medford is expected to open this Friday, according to an announcement from the company.

The location at 471 Salem St. was a Johnnie's Foodmaster supermarket chain until this past November, when it closed along with the all of the company's other locations.

Shortly thereafter, Stop & Shop announced their plans to lease the former Foodmaster location and open a new supermarket there.

According to Monday's Boston.com report, the new Stop & Shop will employ about 100 people and about 30 of them are former Johnnie's Foodmaster employees.

A Stop & Shop already exists in Medford at 760 Fellsway.

Went there yesterday..was sad! this place was empty, more employees than costumers, serious!! The overpriced items may explain that... A stupid cashier look at me like she was thinking `` oh my gosh what am I doing here? I hate this job.. I hate you and I hate my life.. `` then I gave her my stop shop card to be scanned and she said to me with a very disgusting face expression `` I don't like to touch those things`` I paid and didn't hear a simple word like thank you.. well is not my fault if she hate that job..whatever..This place is ridiculous and sad. I really recommend you to DON`T STOP AND DON`T SHOP !
