On the Agenda: $3.2M Loan Order for Water System

Election year calendar also being considered by the City Council tonight.

The Medford City Council will take up a loan order from Mayor Michael J. McGlynn tonight to the tune of nearly $3.2 million for improvements to the city's water system.

The regular meeting of the council will take place at 7 p.m. in the Howard F. Alden Auditorium at Medford City Hall. There will also be a licensing subcommittee meeting at 6:15 in room 207 of City Hall. Information about both meeting is available here.

If approved, the loan would come from Local Pipeline Assistance Program of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA).

Also on the agenda, councilors will be asked to consider approving the municipal election calendar for 2013. Under City Clerk Edward Finn's proposal, nomination papers for the city election would be available starting June 18. Election day is Nov. 5.
