On the Agenda: City Budget, Schools Budget, Food Carts

Some of the items from City Council agendas this week.

Before their regular 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday, the city council will hold two subcommittee meetings at City Hall -- one to discuss a proposed loan order for a police headquarters study, and another to discuss a proposed pilot program for food carts in Medford.

The subcommittee on licensing will discuss the proposed food cart program at 5:15 p.m. in room 207, and the subcommittee on public safety will discuss the police headquarters study at 5:30.

During its regular meeting, the council could vote on the proposed school and city budgets, which have been submitted by Mayor Michael McGlynn. The school budget comes in at $47.5 million and the city budget at $92.1 million.

There is also a resolution from Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn that all documents related to the city budget be posted on the municipal website.

The ICLEI salary under Energy and Environment in the City Budget is $89,687 with an additional $2,350 in expenses. If the expenses are the dues, then we are overpaying. Here is the fee scale http://www.iclei.org/?id=966 Doe anyone else not want their tax dollars funding ICLEI?
