The Medford Farmers Market accept payments from state subsidized food-buying cards this year, with a little kicker.
Through a grant from Medford Health Matters, individuals on the state's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive up to a $20 match on any purchases from the market, according to a press release from health matters.
The grant is funded by Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge; the money aims to promote and support health-related community projects, the release said.
The market's season kicks off Thursday, June 7 at a new location behind City Hall.

I think its great that you can use your SNAP benefits at local farmers markets. Gives people access to healthy foods and on the flip side helps support your local businesses.
