The Week Ahead: Single Seniors, a Track Meet and a Musical
Take a look at what's in store for this week, September 12-16.
Monday
- At the Medford Public Library at 10:00a.m take your young child to Story Time. No registration is necessary so you can just drop in. Listen to stories & do a simple craft with your child. Story Times are for kids ages 2 to 5.
Tuesday
- If you are a senior and are single, consider trying out Senior Singles Group at 6:30p.m at the John and Christina Markey Malden Senior Community Center. Its a great way to socialize with other local seniors and join in group activities.
Wednesday
- At the Medford Public Library at 6:30p.m stop by and Play Go. Beginners and experienced players are welcome to play Go, a fascinating board game that originated in China more than 4,000 years ago, and teaches concentration, balance, and discipline. Congratulations to their teacher Su Co Chon Doc, who has been named 2010 American Go Foundation's Teacher of the Year. This award is presented each year at the U.S. Go Congress and recognizes an outstanding American teacher.
Thursday
- At Somerville High School at 3:30p.m, stop by the Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country GBL Open. Participating schools include Somerville HS, Cambridge Public Schools, Malden HS, Everett HS, and Medford HS; check out these amazing athletes.
Friday
- At the Chevalier Theatre at 8:00p.m, grab some popcorn and enjoy Chicago the Musical. Directed by Robert Bezubka and choreographed by Rachael Ferrante, this remake of the classic musical is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Tickets are $23 in advance and $25 at the door.
