Medford Building Evacuated After Threat

A bomb threat was called into a large office building at 1 Cabot Road in Medford Thursday morning, forcing evacuation of the building. The Massachusetts State Police bomb squad responded to the scene. The building was swept with no finding and employees were allowed to return to the building around 12:30 p.m.

Public Safety Reinforcements Coming For Medford

Medford Police Chief Leo Sacco, Jr. and Mayor Michael McGlynn recently discussed new additions to the Medford Police and Fire departments that will be starting within the next year. Between 11 new police officers and 15 new firefighters, McGlynn said there will be "26 new bodies" providing service to the community.

School Security Upgrade On the Way

Medford Public Schools will be getting a significant upgrade, according to McGlynn. That includes an upgrade of the cameras in each school and internet-based surveillance software and servers.
