When Does Filing Open For Medford Election?

This week's edition of "You Ask...Patch Answers."

 

At Tuesday's Medford City Council meeting, the council unanimously approved the calendar of dates for this year's Medford city election.

Nomination papers for the city election will be available starting Tuesday, June 18. The city's preliminary election would take place Tuesday, Sept. 17, followed by the city election Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Here is a full rundown of the election calendar as approved by the council:

Tuesday, June 18

Nomination papers available from the Registrar of Voters Office, Room 102, City Hall 

Tuesday July 25, 5 p.m.

Last Day and Hour to obtain nomination papers from the Registrar of Voters Office, Room 102, City Hall (53:9A) 

Tuesday, July 30, 5 p.m.

Last Day and Hour to submit nomination papers to the Registrar of Voter’s Office for Certification. (53:7) 

Tuesday, Aug. 13, 5 p.m.

Last Day and Hour to file certified nomination papers with the City Clerk’s Office. (53:10) 

Thursday, Aug. 15, 5 p.m.

Last Day and Hour for filing objections to or withdraw from nomination. (53:13, 55B:7) 

Wednesday, Aug. 28, 8 p.m.

Close of Registration for the Preliminary. (51:26) 

Tuesday, Sept. 10, 5 p.m.

First Campaign Finance Statement due. (55:18) 

Tuesday, September 17 Preliminary 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Monday, Sept. 23, 5 p.m.

Last Day and Hour to withdraw from nomination or petition for a recount of votes at the Preliminary. (54:135) 

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 8 p.m.

Close of Registration for Elections (51:26) 

Monday, Oct. 28, 5 p.m.
