Vegetables: Friend or Foe?
For most of us, they’re foes. But help is here
thanks to vegetable whisperer, Amanda Cohen, chef and owner of NYC’s award-winning vegetable restaurant, Dirt Candy! She was the first and only vegetarian chef on Iron Chef America! Her cookbook is acclaimed by everyone
from Dorrie Greenspan to USA Today! She has stared into the heart of a rutabaga and returned to tell the tale!
To cook vegetables, you have to change how you think about them, but after that it’s easy. Chef Cohen will be your culinary sherpa on this journey to vegetable nirvana. She’ll be sharing tips and techniques, showing you the basic differences between cooking vegetables and meat, and telling you how to turn out vegetables that aren’t gray, limp, and tasteless. If you’ve ever wanted to cook veggies like a restaurant chef, now’s your chance to learn all their deepest secrets…for free!

This sounds like a great event. I wish I could go this afternoon. I'd love some tips on getting my picky eaters to eat veggies too. Perhaps someone could post lessons learned in the Patch afterwards?
