Green Up Clean Up is Back and Roaring To Go!

Perhaps you've heard of Green Up Clean Up by now?  This is the third year that it is being organized by members of Grace Episcopal Church for the Medford Community.  Last Spring the program for being an innovative program that benefits the entire community.   This year we're interested in seeing more involvement from local residents and businesses.  

Our first clean up of the year is coming up quickly, and is a new space for us: Saturday April 14, 1-3PM - Fells entrance at Winthrop St., Gate 1 - This is our first Clean Up at a DCR site!  We will be picking up trash around the trailhead that leads into the fells at this location.   

Then in honor of Earth Day we will be supporting celebrations on Saturday, April 28th at 9:30AM.  We will have a table with information about our clean-ups, we are supporting the Medford Squre Clean-up with equipment and we will have a Green Up Clean Up crew at the Mystic River Clean Up at the Condon Shell, starting at 10:30AM.  

On Saturday May 5th,  we invite everyone to join us at Wright's Pond from 9am to noon for our signature clean up!   This year's activities will include painting and distributing new sand on the beach as well as trash clean up on the trails leading into the public swimming area.  If you've never been to Wright's Pond, join us for a preview of one of Medford's hidden gems!

Other Clean Ups that are still being organized for this Spring include Magoun Park, Victory Park & Logan Park.

If you are interested in helping with this effort, we could use a few more park leaders, donations of clean up supplies and snacks for the workers!

We are also interested in hearing from you about which parks need attention or should have a Clean Up this year.   Please email us at greenupcleanup@gracemedford.org to let us know which parks you would like to see a Clean Up at.  We cannot do every park and green space in Medford, so we will try to focus our efforts where people see the greatest need.
