Medford Jr. Mustangs-President Gene Kenney

A Message from our President

From the Huddle,

We are very proud of the families and individuals who are supporting, volunteering and putting the children of Medford into a priority spot of their busy lives. It was of great concern to many of parents just where the future of Medford football was headed. Families like yours and mine got together to do something about it.

We incorporated and became Mpower Athletics, an organization made up of only residents of Medford. Always having our city and children in mind we wanted a name to signify why we formed. MPOWER to empower our children of Medford in a league and team that provide always a safe environment where children can participate and learn the game of football and cheerleading. Our goal is to create a positive experience that reflects true sportsmanship, teamwork, strength of character, discipline, dedication, integrity and self-worth.

We as parents/coaches of Medford will teach, encourage, and promote the ideals of fair play, respect and proper values. Medford Youth Football & Cheer, The Jr. Mustangs are committed to maintaining quality volunteers who will help in the development of the youth for whom these teams were created. Our goal is to ensure that everyone associated with the MYFC will be a good citizen on and off the field.

We as an organization of Medford residence didn’t like seeing children get turned away due to being over weight or just because there wasn’t enough interest in their divisions. In our league any child that attends school here in Medford are allowed to play. In September 2013 if you’re attending the 1st grade through the 8th grade and register with us you become a member of the Jr Mustangs.

Our strategies are in line with our High School Mustangs. This will help to build a feeder program for the High school and bring back the power house days of the Medford Mustangs that a lot of us remember. It’s very hard to be intoxicated by memories long ago when you get a sobering reality of the present condition of our football program. Our children are just diamonds in the ruff and they are the true gems of Medford.

I hope this statement helps to clear up any confusion the families in Medford may have. We look forward to a great season for our family THE JR MUSTANGS
