Hundreds of past and present politicians as well as friends and colleagues of Michael Dukakis and his wife Kitty attended a fundraising event to celebrate the former Governor’s 80th birthday on November 1st at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. All proceeds from the fundraiser, which totaled nearly $450,000, went to the New England Center for Children (NECC), a school and research center for autism in Southborough, MA., and one of Governor Dukakis’ favorite causes. Other notable guests included: former Presidential Policy Advisor George Stephanopoulos, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Junior Senator Ed Markey, Congressman Mike Capuano, Chief Investment Officer of New York Life Investments John Kim, WCVB-TV's Susan Wornick, former SBLI President & CEO Bob Sheridan, and NECC Chief Executive Officer Vinnie Strully, Jr., as well as surprise video tributes from Conan O’Brien and President Bill Clinton.
