Federal Judge Dismisses Medford Group's Suit Seeking to Stop Green Line Extension

Judge said the suit did not provide enough proof that it would harm those filing the suit.

A federal judge rejected a suit by a couple from West Medford that wanted to stop the Green Line extension into the city.

Bill Wood and Carolyn Rosen, along with a group called the Green Line Advisory Group of Medford wanted environmental and social impacts on Medford to be studied more closely before the project commenced, according to a story in the Boston Globe.

Judge Dennis Saylor, a federal district court judge in Boston, dismissed the suit against the Massachusetts Department of Transportation because the suit did not provide enough proof that they would be “injured” by the project. In the Aug. 2 ruling, the group was given 21 days to provide more concrete proof to prove their case.
