Five Things: Community Blood Drive Today

What Medford should know today, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Here are five things to know today, Wednesday, Dec. 12:

1. Sunny and chillier. Today will be sunny with a high near 42 according to the National Weather Service. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Tonight, mostly clear, with a low around 28. Light and variable wind.

2. Blood drive at City Hall today. The Medford Community Blood Drive, sponsored by Medford City Hall, is today from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. All donors receive a free Chili's appetizer or dessert coupon.

3. Get your December utility bill paid by Patch. Share a photo of your home decorated for the holidays in our Deck the House contest. Twenty-four finalists will have their holiday spirit-spiked electricity bill for the entire month of December (up to $500) paid for by Patch and one Grand Prize Winner will earn $100,000 for Medford Public Schools.

4. Free weight loss seminar. Hallmark Health System Center for Weight Management and Weight Loss Surgery’s free information seminar is tonight at Lawrence Memorial Hospital at 6 p.m. Call 781-306-6166 to register.

5. Story Time at the library. Visit the Medford Public Library each Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Story Time for kids ages 2 to 5. Listen to stories and do a simple craft. No registration necessary.
