Have you been avoiding the High Street/Winthrop Street rotary due to the construction?

Well, you may want to add Harvard Street to your list – at least during the day.

Harvard Street will be one-way westbound from Main Street to Boston Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays for the next two weeks, as construction on the road’s storm drains was expected to start Tuesday, June 3, according to the Tufts University Police Department.

Hey, that wouldn't be a truck parking on the sidewalk at a very busy and dangerous intersection...?! Bad enough trying to cross the intersection as a pedestrian; now you have to avoid cars and trucks backing up onto the sidewalk...especially in the evening! Notice there is no curb cut nor is it legal to do this. Where in Medford's bylaws does it give authorization to park cars illegally on the sidewlk such as this one? This is just one location which you can see in the photo...other locations you can see sidewalk car parking... Yale and Main Street, the other side of Harvard Street (diagonally across from where the photo was taken), Tufts Square on Main Street across from Tufts Park, Hicks Avenue and Main Street.

It is getting more difficult for residents of South Medford to safely walk on the sidewalks, as well as driving on the streets. The MA DOT required the CIty of Medord to remove the No Heavy Trucking signs from Harvard Street, opening the way for ten to eighteen foot wheelers to use the road, often speeding within inches of pedestrians. All one has to do is take a peek at the trees along Harvard Street, many missing the side facing the street, in particular the one that was cut in half by an errant mirror on an 18 wheeler. It could have been a pedestrian that was hit by the mirror!

Any reason why this info had to be announced through the Tufts Police? Did anyone receive notification via City of Medford communication?

Medford Will not NOTIFY everyone. Mc Glynn does what he want's to DO.
