Medford Mailman Dies After Collapsing on Route

James Baldassarre died Saturday.

A 45-year-old Medford postal carrier died Saturday after collapsing during a Friday delivery on Riverside Avenue, according to a WCVB report.

James Baldassarre, of Haverhill, had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years, according to the report. He collapsed at about 5:40 p.m. Friday and died at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston Saturday morning, WCVB reports.

His wife told the news station she believes heat and humidity could have been a factor, but she’s awaiting the autopsy, according to the report.
