Medford Artist Dedicating Work to Late New Covenant School Student

The 6-year-old student died in a swimming accident earlier this summer.

Lou Lim, a Medford artist, is dedicating his piano in Boston’s public art installation, “Street Pianos Boston,” to the late Grant Brown, a 6-year-old New Covenant School student from Somerville who died in a swimming accident earlier this summer.

The installation is part of “Play Me, I’m Yours” by Luke Jerram, a work that has placed more than 1,000 pianos in 37 cities across the globe. In this area, 75 pianos will be put out in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline for people to play from Sept. 27 to Oct. 14.

Lim, who is close family friends with the Browns, has designed his piano based on Grant’s loves: superheroes, legos and more.
