Bestsellers Cafe Re-Opens Today

The cafe plans to open at 7 a.m., according to its Facebook page.

After five years shuttered, Bestsellers Cafe re-opens at 7 a.m. today, and plans to hold a grand opening celebration later in August, according to an announcement on its Facebook page.

"We will officially be opening tomorrow morning at 7am!" the post, made Wednesday evening, said. "Yes, the permits are in order, books have been discounted, food has been ordered, new books (plenty) have arrived....and the staff are anxious to meet everyone and welcome the community, too!"

Cafe owner Rob Dilman went before the city council in July, which unanimously approved a common victuallers license for the bookstore/cafe/coffee shop. From there, a health inspection had to be conducted before the cafe could open.

"It’s a fantastic spot and I’m looking forward to getting back into the community," Dilman said at the time.

The store closed in 2007 when property owner Michael Casoli began building renovations originally expected to take six to 18 months. But the project hit a snag with soil problems beneath the building, and has since dragged on slowly.

The cafe will hold its official grand opening on Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday Aug. 12, according to the Facebook post.
