Macy's 'Shop For A Cause' Benefits March of Dimes

Shopping event is on Saturday at all Macy's stores.

 and March of Dimes invite customers to participate in the seventh annual “Shop For A Cause” charity shopping event at Macy’s stores nationwide on Saturday, Aug. 25.

“Shop For A Cause” is Macy’s unique one-day-only shopping event that was created to support local charities’ fundraising efforts, which has helped raise more than $42 million for charitable organizations across the country since 2006.

Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer, said, “Giving back is a cornerstone of Macy’s culture, and through our annual ‘Shop For A Cause’ program, our customers have helped Macy’s give more than $42 million for local and national charities. Our customers’ ongoing support is an inspiration and we are proud to offer them an effective yet simple way to make a positive difference in their communities while enjoying great savings at Macy’s.”

On Saturday, Aug. 25, customers making a purchase with a “Shop For A Cause” savings pass will receive 25% off regular, sale and clearance merchandise, as well as 10% off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs, plus are eligible to win a $500 gift card.

Shopping passes sold at Macy’s stores and macys.com are $5 each, and will benefit March of Dimes.

The organization will receive 100% of every ticket sold at Macy’s stores and on macys.com. Shopping passes are only sold on macys.com on Aug. 25, but customers may purchase shopping passes in advance at all Macy’s locations.

Last year alone, Macy’s raised $3.2 million on behalf of mothers and babies. ‘Shop for a Cause’ demonstrates Macy’s corporate responsibility and support for the families across the country. ”

“This sale is a great way for families to shop for their fall necessities,” said Shalini Wittstruck, mother of the March of Dimes 2012 national ambassador, 6-year-old Kieran Wittstruck. “Kieran grows so fast and always needs new clothes. Macy’s Shop For A Cause is a great way to get him what he needs, while supporting the March of Dimes work to prevent preterm birth.”
