Agero will open a new center in Clarksville, Tenn.

A Medford-based roadside assistance company will be bringing 500 new jobs to a Tennessee city by opening a call center, according to a press release.

Agero, headquartered on Cabot Road in Medford, has decided to purchase a 56,000 square foot building in Clarksville, Tenn. for a new call center, according to a company press release. It will open for business at the end of October, the release said; Agero anticipates that it will hire 250 employees by the end of the year and another 250 in 2013, the release said.

It took 16 months for the company to settle on Clarksville after it considered 21 communities in the southeast and midwest, the press release said. The new center will be the sixth regional call center for the company, which has locations in Medford, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Irving, Texas, Tucson, Ariz., and Sebring, Fla., the press release said.
