A new yoga studio opened at the corner of Main and Harvard streets last month.
Jenna Palm, a 26-year-old Somerville resident and New Hampshire native, opened The Corner Studio, her first business, at 379 Main St. on Sept. 14.
Palm, who comes from a sales and marketing background but has been teaching yoga for four years, said Friday her philosophy is that yoga should be accessible to everyone.
“A lot of people say, ‘Oh, I can’t do yoga, I’m not flexible enough,’” she said, “but I want this space to be for everyone – beginners to advanced. I don’t want it to be intimidating.”
New customers can buy a $25 two-week unlimited pass at The Corner Studio. The studio’s full rates and offerings can be found on its website, thecornerstudioyoga.com>>
Palm, who grew up as a dancer and gymnast and has been practicing yoga for 10 years, said she has wanted to open her own business since studying entrepreneurship at Quinnipiac University.
In the future, she’d like The Corner Studio to become a “one-stop wellness shop,” with more offerings, such as massage therapy, Pilates and food, around her core focus, yoga.
The space used to be an antique shop and, prior to that, a photography studio.
