Property Tax rate Comparisons, Including Somereville and Winchester

How does Medford's property tax rate compare to other communities?

Below is a list of residential tax rates payed by residents in neighboring communities. Not all municipalities have set their FY14 rates yet and those communities will be indicated with an "FY13" marker. Most communities do not vary wildly from year to year.

The information has been gathered from Patch sites and town web pages.

Area community residential tax rates:
  • Woburn - $10.47 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Waltham - $13.43 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Lincoln - $14.41 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Lexington $15.51 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Bedford - $15.71 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Watertown - $15.98 per $1,000 of assessed value.
  • Medford - $12.36 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Belmont - $13.33 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Arlington - $13.61 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Wilmington - $13.61 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Concord - $14.07 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Reading - $14.94 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • North Reading - $14.98 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
  • Malden - $15.88 per $1,000 of assessed value (FY13).
