Bus Driver Honored For Helping Wandering 2-Year-Old: An MBTA bus driver who spotted a 2-year-old wandering the streets along and notified police received a key to the city of Medford and a commendation from its Police Chief Wednesday. Donna D’Amelio spotted the child near Light Guard Drive as she was driving the 134 route on Riverside Avenue about 6 a.m. on Aug. 5. She stopped the bus, called police and waited with the child until they arrived.

Medford's own Kitty Connection might have a cat-like name, but it shelters dogs, too. There's also the Animal Rescue League of Boston and Wakefield-based PAWS.
