5 Things to Know Today, Thursday, March 10

Is it Medford, Medfid, or Medfa?

Good morning, Medford. Here's five things to know today:

The Tufts Chamber Singers, instructed by Jamie Kirsch, present authentic King's Singers arrangements of Beatles classics, including "Can't Buy Me Love", "Yesterday", and "Penny Lane." It starts at 8 p.m. at Distler Performance Hall, and it's free.

: The real Jan Schlichtmann will be on hand for a screening of the film at 7 p.m. tonight at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. Schlichtmann, who is depicted in the movie by John Travolta, led a civil action against those responsible for contaminating the City of Woburn's water supply.

During 2010 a film crew and several interviewers hit the streets with the aim to tell Medford Stories. The interviewees talked about the role of the family, the bustle of the Square, getting totally involved in sports and sharing good times at such hot spots as the Bal-a-Roue. In “those days” Medford was a place to make lasting friendships, enjoy every day life and appreciate things that had come before. The screening will be a 7 p.m. at the library.

: Head to Medford Family Network's center at Medford High School at 12 p.m. to join in on this weekly support group.

Rain Likely: There's a sixty percent chance of rain during today, and a 60 percent chance tonight, according to the National Weather Service. The rain is expected to last into Friday. Today's high is 42 degrees.
