Good morning, here are five things to know today:

Medford High students and parents will have a couple of opportunities to get to know the school's new headmaster before classes start. John Perella, who replaced Paul Krueger when he retired earlier this summer, will hold "Meet the Headmaster" nights at Medford High School Aug. 23 and 30. Both events will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school's library.

Weather: Mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s are expected today, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms tomorrow.

Security staff at Logan International Airport have filed complaints that their co-workers target minorities for security checks, according to the Boston Globe. Over 30 officers have lodged the complaints, which are under investigation by the Transportation Security Administration, the Globe reports.

Faiths Join Together in Support of Sikh Community, Shooting Victims: Faiths came together in Medford Sunday in solidarity and support for the Sikh community. The Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, a Sikh Temple in Medford, held an interfaith prayer service mid-day Sunday for the victims of a shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin one week earlier. Representatives of at least a half dozen religious sects were in attendance. The temple's congregants sat cross-legged, heads covered in the second flood of 226 Mystic Avenue as speakers reflected on the tragedy. "We are all the children of one god," Gurinder Singh, president of Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar said. "Hopefully, this will be a new beginning for all of us."

Massachusetts Dems Say Ryan's Budget Plans Will Hurt GOP: Massachusetts Democrats believe that with Rep. Paul Ryan on the Romney ticket, Democrats can win by running against Ryan's existing budget plans, particularly his proposal for Medicare.  In a Blue Commonwealth Snap Poll survey sent out shortly after Romney announced Paul Ryan will be his running mate, Massachusetts Democrats reacted to the decision. "[The decision] defines Romney as a conservative who aligns himself with the Tea Party," one respondent said.
