Five Great Bets For St. Patty's Day Around Medford

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and you’re starting to wonder where to head for a pint of Guinness after work. Fear no more, friends. Patch is here with a list of five spots to hit around town tonight.

So slap on your shamrocks, have a plate of corned beef and cabbage and head out to one of these places. You'll be feeling the luck o' the Irish after just a few pints of Guinness.

  •  in Somerville: Fill up on corned beef dinners and sandwiches all day (they open early at 11 a.m.) then check out Speir Mohr as they perform traditional Irish session tunes live starting at 8:30 p.m.
  • The Burren in Somerville: The taps started flowing at 6 a.m., the kitchen is serving corned beef and other Irish treats all day, and every minute will be filled with live Irish Tunes. Squeeze in for live traditional Irish music in the front room all day and check out the acts in the back: Molly’s Misfits 12-3 p.m., Johnny Come Lately 3-8 p.m., The Pubtones 8 p.m.-close.
  •  in Wakefield: This traditional Irish Pub will be going all out for its St. Patrick's Day celebration. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the restaurant will be serving a corned beef and cabbage special for $9.95. Harrington's will also have live music all day and night from three different performers on both the upper and level lowers of the restaurant, and they'll be serving green beer on tap.
  •  in Reading: Reading’s newest pub—and only Irish-themed restaurant—will have a selection of celebratory offerings tonight and through the weekend. Tonight—and only tonight—the restaurant will offer a special traditional Irish menu, and band Sligo Road will accompany your traditional Irish dinner with traditional Irish music. If you can’t go out on a Thursday night, Grumpy Doyle’s will have cover band Ruben Kincade on Friday and Irish band Inichicore on Sunday.
  •  in Stoneham:  This Stoneham landmark is celebrating St. Patty’s Day with corned beef and cabbage for dinner, which will be served 3-10 p.m. Now all you need is a Guinness and some Irish whiske
