Guilty Plea in Murder Case; Candidates Night Tonight

Good morning, here's five things to know today:

A Cambridge man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of manslaughter in connection the beating death of a man in a Salem Street apartment in 2010, prosecutors said. Christopher Toppi, 29, of Cambridge, pled guilty in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn the charge and was sentenced to 15 to 18 years in prison

A total of 19 crimes have been reported at Wellington Station through September of this year, according to recent data from the MBTA. A total of three assaults, two larcenies from a vehicle, one bicycle larceny, one robbery and four other larcenies were reported, according to the data. There were also three reports of vandalism, three simple assaults, and two sex offenses. Nearby Orange Line Stop Malden Center had a total of 30 reported crimes in the first nine months of this year, while Sullivan Square had 32.
