Hollywood Movie Filming in Medford This Week

Lots of buzz was showing up on social media Monday about the new David O. Russell movie, where a scene is reportedly being filmed on Doonan Street.

We heard from a few people Monday, and saw quite a few tweets, that a movie scene was being filmed in the northern part of Medford at a location near Wright's Pond.

The website On Location Vacations, which tracks the locations of film crews, posted that a new David O. Russell project was being filmed on Doonan Street with a base camp set up near Wright's Pond.

There are plenty of yellow signs in the area along the roadways, pointing in various directions for the set for the "Untitled" movie.

A catering area for the cast and crew has been set up near Community Baptist Church on Fulton Street.

Our pals at Malden Patch are reporting the project is set to film this week at Amerige Park in Malden.

The film has a star-studded cast, with Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Louis CK believed to have roles.

The film is a historical dramatization of the "Abscam" wiretap case, a scandal-laden FBI investigation that ended in criminal bribery convictions for a U.S. senator, five congressmen and other state and local officials in the early 1980s.

Russell has directed acclaimed films such as last year's "Silver Linings Playbook," "The Fighter" in 2010 and "I Heart Huckabees" in 2004.

Did you see any of the filming happening this week? Get a glimpse of any of the stars? Snap any photos of the action? Add your photos above and leave your comments below!

I saw several huge trucks parked on the fenced road at Wright's Pond with a police car with lights flashing in the early p.m. on Monday. One left the area and drove up Elm towards Fulton, but I had no idea what it was about at the time.

This is a much better explanation for all the police cars on Sturges & Wason St on Monday afternoon! I assumed a car crash until my neighbor told me they were filming at the intersection on Monday!

I saw them too and didn't know what had happened. I have seen signs on Highland Ave across from Doonan Ave. If they get hungry in the AM they should get a B-Boy at Jim's-then they'll be back for sure!!!!!!

Well you can't go wrong with those ingredients! I hear it's served on a Piantedosi sub roll. I'll have to pick one up when I'm in the area.

I stopped and watched filming of the movie on Beltran Street in Malden last night. We saw Christian Bale and watched them filming part of the movie. I was with my little boy "Christian" too! He got a real kick out of seeing the actor who played Batman too and seeing all the movie props, lighting, crew etc...It is very interesting to see how many people and all the props and equipment and even security they must use! Also they had lined the street with cool looking classic 1970's car...with New York/ New Jersey plates. very Cool to see in Malden!
