Hollywood Movie Filming in Medford This Week

Lots of buzz was showing up on social media Monday about the new David O. Russell movie, where a scene is reportedly being filmed on Doonan Street.

We heard from a few people Monday, and saw quite a few tweets, that a movie scene was being filmed in the northern part of Medford at a location near Wright's Pond.

The website On Location Vacations, which tracks the locations of film crews, posted that a new David O. Russell project was being filmed on Doonan Street with a base camp set up near Wright's Pond.

There are plenty of yellow signs in the area along the roadways, pointing in various directions for the set for the "Untitled" movie.

A catering area for the cast and crew has been set up near Community Baptist Church on Fulton Street.

Our pals at Malden Patch are reporting the project is set to film this week at Amerige Park in Malden.

The film has a star-studded cast, with Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper and Louis CK believed to have roles.

The film is a historical dramatization of the "Abscam" wiretap case, a scandal-laden FBI investigation that ended in criminal bribery convictions for a U.S. senator, five congressmen and other state and local officials in the early 1980s.

Russell has directed acclaimed films such as last year's "Silver Linings Playbook," "The Fighter" in 2010 and "I Heart Huckabees" in 2004.
