POLL: Casinos in Massachusetts?

The House overwhelmingly passed a bill that would bring up to three casinos and one slot parlor to the state Thursday, sending the proposal to the Senate.

The Massachusetts House of Representatives Approved a bill Thursday that would make way for casino gambling in Massachusetts.

As written, the proposal calls for three licenses to be distributed in the state, one for central and eastern Massachusetts, and one each for the southeast and western regions of the state.

It also allows for one slot parlor, which would be limited to 1,250 slot machines; the slot parlor must be tied to horse racing and part of the taxes against it would go toward the horse racing industry in the state.
