Pursuit Ends with Gunpoint Arrests in West Medford: Two men were arrested at gunpoint in a West Medford parking lot Friday after a brief pursuit in Arlington, according to police. Casey R. Kolenda, 26, of Dorchester was charged with operating a motor vehicle after a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and failure to stop for police and speeding, and Matthew Cody, 23, of Park Terrace, Arlington, was charged with being in possession of a Class B drug and carrying a dangerous weapon.

UPDATE: Golden Retreiver Reunited with Owner: Golden Retreiver found wondering the Fellsway Thursday morning has been reunited with its family. Coleen Elstermeyer found the dog and created a Facebook page to try and reunite her with her owner. The dog and family were reconnected Thursday evening.

Foreclosures Drop in Medford, Bucking State Trends: Only three foreclosure petitions were recorded in Medford last month, down from 12 in August 2011, according to recently released data. Year-to-date, there have been a total of 53 foreclosure petitions in Medford, one fewer than the same time period last year, according to data from real estate publisher The Warren Group. That bucks state trends, as foreclosure petitions in Massachusetts have significantly risen compared to this time last year. A total of 12,079 foreclosure petitions have been initiated so far in Massachusetts this year, up from 8,253 petitions through August 2011, according to the data.
