Hawaiian Hula Class offered at the Jenks Center

Polynesian Dance Arts offers introductory Hawaiian hula class

This class for beginners will take participants through the basic steps and terminology of hula. We will utilize these basic steps in learning a simple, slow tempo hula.  Translation of the song we will use will be provided.  The class will also include cultural and historical background of the hula and its relation to Hawaiian history.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Shoes are not required as hula is done in barefeet.  Prior dance experience is not required.

Sign up at Jenks reception desk. Limited to 20 participants. Price is $5 a class if you sign up for all 6 classes or drop-in fee is $6 per class.

This  class is taught by Marta Moussa. Marta was a dance major at Boston Conservatory of Music and studied hula in Hawaii.
