Although many have heard of the Freemasons, very few are aware
that for over 280 years the masons have been part of an unbroken tradition of
great men who have changed our world in a number of ways.

Men like Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thurgood
Marshall, John Glenn, Franklin D.

Roosevelt, Teddy Roosevelt, Paul Revere,
John Hancock and even the first mayor of Medford, Samuel Crocker Lawrence, all
joined the Masons prior to achieving the greatness we recognize them for
today.

There are countless others that have made their families, workplaces,
and communities better because they are Masons.

The Masons of Medford are a recently reconstituted lodge. A
group of masons started a local meeting place for Masons and named it after
Samuel Crocker Lawrence in honor of all his charitable offerings to this great
community.  The lodge hopes to continue his work in honor of his
legacy.  The Medford Masons hold their meetings the second Wednesday of
every month at 19 Washington St., Medford, MA.

Freemasonry, the world’s oldest and largest
fraternity, seeks to
bring together men of every country, religion, race, background, and
opinion in order to develop the bonds of friendship between them.  Through
a large variety of North American Masonic philanthropies, approximately
$3,000,000 is given to charity every day, 70% of which benefits the general
public. By “making good men better,” Freemasonry positively benefits its
members, their families and local communities.

Freemasonry has over 32,000 members in the Commonwealth
alone.
