Nominations Wanted for the Medford Green Awards

Know of a “green” business, resident or organization in Medford, you can nominate them for a Medford Green Award.

The award recognizes groups and people who have implemented sustainable practices to improve the environment.

Awards are given in two categories: business (including non-profit organizations) and residential. They are judged by the Medford Energy Committee and the Medford Energy Committee.

The deadline to submit nominations is Sept. 6. Nominations can be submitted electronically at http://www.medford.org/greenawards and through the Medford Energy office.

Mayor Michael McGlynn will present plaques to the winners the awards at the Medford Harvest Your Energy Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the base of the city’s wind turbine on Freedom Way.
