Brown Site in West Medford Parking Lot

Dear Neighbors,
While the city has not caused the ground contamination we are however responsible for its clean up.  Unfortunately, some past businesses used chemicals which have seeped into the ground and are apparently in some stores in West Medford Square.  We as a city need to make this a budget priority because it is an unsafe area.  We do not want these chemicals leeching into our underground water.  Some of these agents may cause cancer or other health problems.  For specifics on the study see city hall.  The price tag on the clean up is somewhere between 8-10 million dollars.  This money should be bonded and this project started ASAP for the health and safety of Medford residents.
