Marie Randazzo, Waitress, Manager at the Old Howard Johnson's, Dies at 72

Randazzo died Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Marie E. Randazzo died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the Brookside Hospice, Palm Harbor, Fla. She was 72.

Marie was raised in Medford and Stoneham, the daughter of the late Frank and Phyllis (Pappalardo) Pignone. She worked for many years at Howard Johnson’s in Medford as a waitress and manager, and also was a cashier at Walmart. She was a devoted wife mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is lovingly survived by Frank Randazzo Sr. of Danvers, Frank Randazzo Jr. of Medford, Denice Randazzo of Danvers, Diana Doucette of Ossipee, N.H., John Randazzo of Dunedin, Fla., Lisa Randazzo, Sam Reed and Victor Doucette. Marie also leaves seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her brothers: Frank, Stanley and Phillip Pignone.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 4-8 p.m. Procession will gather on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
