Obituary: Denise Sacco, Wife of Medford Police Chief and Beloved Mother

Denise A. Sacco a life-long Medford resident died peacefully Wednesday morning. She was 59.

The daughter of Joseph and Madeleine (Boisvert) Horrigan of Medford, Denise lived in Medford her entire life. She was devoted to her family. She loved to be a “stay-at-home” mom who raised her two sons. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and especially loved being with her grandchildren.

The beloved wife of Leo A. “Buddy” Sacco, Jr., Chief of the Medford Police Department, She was a devoted mother to Leo A. Sacco III, Medford Police and his wife Vanya of Medford, Joseph D. Sacco, Transit Police and his wife Michelle, Chelmsford Fire Dept. of Chelmsford. She was a loving grandmother to Genesis, Ketzia and Jaydon. She was a dear sister to William Horrigan and his wife Diane of Lynnfield, Joseph D. Horrigan, Jr and his wife Susan of Reading the late Madeleine Mary Horrigan and also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday from 4 thru 8 p.m. and a gain on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial offered in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 a.m.
