Obituary: Edward Emery, of Medford

Edward Francis Emery, of Medford, died Saturday in the Lowell General Hospital. Born and raised in Cambridge and Somerville, he was the son of the late George J. and Katherine (Keohane) Emery.

Edward was the beloved husband of 52 years to Gail (Suslowicz) Emery, and devoted father of Kathleen M. Malloy and her companion, Tom Nelson, of Derry, N.H., Kimberly Emery and Kelli Raso, both of Medford, and Kyle Emery and his wife Loren of Chester, N.H. He was the loving grandfather of Ashley Malloy, Taylor, Trevor and Troy Emery, Lily, Mia and Ella Raso, and brother of Marie Roy of Florida, Theresa Ryan of New Hampshire, Jean Mazzocca of Burlington, Patricia DesRoches of Cambridge, and the late John, Katherine, George "Pete," and Donald. Brother in law of Leonard (Jim) Suslowicz and his wife Carol. Edward is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and beloved dog and constant companion Harry.

A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Friday, Jan. 24, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
