Obituary: Josephine Joyce, Lived in Medford for Over 50 Years

Joyce died Saturday, May 24.

Josephine (Rum) Joyce, of Medford, died Saturday, May 24. Born and raised in Boston's West End, she was the daughter of the late Nellie (Wolozak) Rum. Josephine moved to Medford over 50 years ago and worked as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Joyce and devoted mother of the late Thomas Joyce and Kathleen Perault. Josephine was the loving grandmother of Thomas Joyce and his wife Jennifer of Wilmington, Christopher Joyce of Braintree, Charles Perault and his fiancée Victoria Jackson of Melrose, Amie Perault and her husband William Sica of Malden and Cheri Perault and her partner Adam Foley of Medford. She was the loving great grandmother of Tyler, Haylee and Nolan.

A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, May 28, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9-10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joyce's name may be sent to Catholic Charities, 75 Kneeland St., 8th Floor, Development Office, Boston, MA 02111.
