Obituary: Rose DiMartino, 87

Rose DiMartino, 87, of Newburyport, formerly of Medford, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport.

Born Sept. 20, 1926, in Boston, she is predeceased by her parents, and her late husband of 57 years, Joseph DiMartino, as well as sisters Fannie, Connie, Mary and brother Phil.

Rose was a homemaker and most recently lived in Saugus and Del Ray, Fla. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family, working at Filene's and the Cambridge Court House and traveled to Del Ray with her husband every winter until a few years before her passing.

Survivors include a daughter Denise and son-in-law Peter of Braintree and sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Sue of Newburyport, Robert and Rose Marie of Medford, Joseph and Cheryl of North Andover. She is survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, and again on Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
