Obituary: Valentina Russolillo, Medford Resident Since 1978

Russolillo died Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Valentina Russolillo died peacefully at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Teresa (Sperlonga) Lauretti. After moving to the United States, she settled in Boston's North End before moving to Medford in 1978.

Valentina was the beloved wife of John Russolillo and devoted mother of Nicola Russolillo of Medford, Pasquale Russolillo and his wife Frances and Julia Khoda and her husband Morteza, all of Georgetown. She was the loving grandmother of John David, Stefania, Jacqueline, Nina, Julia, Ali and Josephine, and sister of Michael Lauretti of Medford, Carlo Lauretti of Italy, and the late Maria, Assunta and Elvira Lauretti. She was the niece of Stefanina Lauretti of Medford and her late husband Pasquale, and also leaves many loving nieces and nephews in America and Italy.

A funeral service will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Valentina's name to the Focolare Movement, 257 Peace Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
